Introducing / Track Of The Day :: Shader - Broken Minds

Words: Linn Branson

It's hard not to immediately think of Oasis on hearing emerging fellow Manchester and Macclesfield-based indie rock 'n' rollers, Shader.

Vocalist Stu Whiston has still to perfect his Liam G swagger and stance, but he's spot on otherwise in the sound of this impressive debut single, 'Broken Minds', released last week; which, as big Oasis fans, that may not be too surprising. There's plenty of hooks, wiry guitar riffs, and that big, bold vocal, of course.

Already aired by BBC Introducing and picked up by promoter Mike Jonns of This Feeling for their first gig of 2018, and with plans to release a further trio of singles this year, the next 12 months could prove the breakthrough for the quartet.

Shader play The Underground, Stoke on Trent (supporting SHEAFS) on March 8 for This Feeling.

Shader are: Stu Whiston (vocals, guitar), Mike Lo Bosco (lead guitar), Darren Edwards (bass), Isaac Salisbury (drums)
