Track Of The Day :: Dama Scout - Suzie Wong

Words: Ellie Ward

Featured on our Roundtable back in April with 'Paper Boy', London/Glasgow's Dama Scout are back with new single 'Suzie Wong'.

Out now, the hooky, fuzz-filled track is overseen by the glistening vocal of Eva Liu against hooky guitars - actually a child's basic guitar captured on a laptop microphone - and wrapped in a krautrock sheen.

The trio today also announce their self-titled debut EP, to be released via Hand In Hive on November 10, from which 'Suzie Wong'comes. One of the first songs the band composed together, lyrically ‘Suzie Wong’ is rooted in Dama Scout’s imagined versions of cinematic dream sequences which run in parallel with their real-life experiences - being raised on a diet of classic and contemporary films by their parents.

Tune in below.
