Flying Vinyl Festival lines up The Wytches, Spring King, Dream Wife and more

Words: Jess Sharrock

Small, but perfectly formed is how you might describe the Flying Vinyl one day festival.

Taking place on April 8 at London's Oval Space from 1pm till late, last year's line-up saw the likes of Swim Deep, Black Honey, The Amazons and Asylums take to the stage, and this year’s is equally exciting with a pretty small line-up but a vast amount of quality new talent, it’s an event not to be missed.

Brighton (via Peterborough) four-piece The Wytches will be headlining the event, along with Tarik Musa and his three other Spring King members, while Londoners Hidden Charms will also be hitting the stage following a string of sold out UK dates earlier this year. Two big must-sees from this line-up is Anteros, the four-piece band from London, via Barcelona, whose sound is heart-breaking, dreamy indie pop at its best; and the currently much vaunted London-based Icelandic all-female trio Dream Wife, fresh from their SXSW appearances and tour with The Kills and an anthemic new single in 'Somebody' to boot.

Flying Vinyl exploded onto the new music scene in 2015 when Craig Evans, following his frustration that music had become disposable in the digital age of the internet, started providing a monthly fix of the best new music pressed exclusively onto 7” vinyl records delivered straight to your door.

The line-up for Flying Vinyl Festival 2017 is:

The Wytches / Spring King / Hidden Charms / Traams  / Dream Wife / Anteros / Trudy & the Romance / Willie J Healey / Palm Honey / Yassassin
