Track Of The Day :: Blonde Maze - Antarctica

Words: Sam Geary

First coming our way early last year with 'Summer Rain', a four-and-a-half minute track of R'n'B flavoured electronica, Blonde Maze - aka  New York City-based Amanda Steckler - returns with 'Antarctica'.

The first new material since her debut EP 'Oceans', 'Antarctica' is less warm and sultry than 'Summer Rain', offering a more crisp delivery of keys, synth and marimbas in a sparkling electronic pop production around which Steckler vocalises, "when you leave, I'm cold / It's like living in Antarctica / where all my time has gone."

“‘Antarctica’ is my most recent journey," she says. "I tend to write about real-life experiences. This track is my way of expressing the realization of just how close you can get to someone and how beautiful that can be."
