Listen :: The Bay Rays - Aphelion

Words: Sam Geary

After winning over crowds with their Glastonbury festival appearance this summer, Kent garage rock trio The Bay Rays release the first single to be taken from their upcoming debut EP, 'Satisfaction'.

Available on their own label imprint, East Wing Records, 'Aphelion' (which follows debut single 'Four Walls' and 'New Home') offers Harry Nicoll‘s boisterous vocals again driving home over melodic rhythms.

"It’s about having a closeness with someone, but you’re longing for something more," says Nicoll about the song. "Although raw in both its subject matter and verses, it builds to a luscious, almost fragile chorus that manages to bottle the weird, almost self-destructive beauty that can be found in starting to understand these feelings of desire."

The Bay Rays play their first headline show on December 3 at The Forum in Tunbridge Wells.
