Jellyskin are a new Leeds-based indie three-piece who just dropped into our ears in the last 24 hours with their debut single 'Grey Glass Hat'. And if the rest of their material can live up to this, we look forward to hearing more.
These are still very early days for the band who only formed at the beginning of this year. Describing their sound as "spacegaze + yachtfuzz + apocalypso", 'Grey Glass Hat' opens on a dark notes of ominous synths punctuated by Zia Larty-Healy's commanding vocal presence that is both fragile, yet unnervingly eerie.
'Grey Glass Hat' is streaming now digitally. It will also feature on a Sea of Skin Records compilation to be released on July 15.
Jellyskin are still currently writing and recording, but are looking at making their live debut around October. Keep an eye on their Facebook for updates.
