New Sounds #38 20/3/16

BEATY HEART - SOFT LIKE CLAY
New single (out May 13) from south-London's Peckham posse. After recently revealing 'Flora’ from their upcoming second album ‘Till The Tomb’, due July 29 via Caroline International, this latest alt-pop percussive track further highlights their way with off-kilter beats and percussion. Star rating: ***/5

NIGHT PALMS - TIGER TEMPLE
New Lancaster four-piece share the (some might argue, better) B-side to 'The Blue Pool' 7", set for May release. Interesting use of guitars and percussion, and striking dark-tinged vocals via Fin Kay-Lavelle. Catch live at Oporto, Leeds on April 13. Star rating: ***/5

TEN FÉ - ELODIE
Released March 18 on Bad Life Artists, polished electronic vibrant pop from the London duo, Ben Moorhouse and Leo Duncan, and comes on the back of 'In The Air' which went to #2 on the Hype Machine chart last December. Catch live at The Pickle Factory in London on March 23. Star rating: ***.5/5

LEØ - HOLD ON
Out March 22, the new single from Brisbane dream-pop trio, Chloe Pilkington (who began the the song back in 2014 while still at uni), Callum MacDonald and Joshua Black. Ethereal vocals rest alongside tinkling synths and shadowy guitar strains. Star rating: ***/5

INDIGO QUEST - LIGHT IN THE DARK
Eighties-inspired electronic solo project of Italian singer/ songwriter and producer Denis Rossi. This new track (released earlier this month) follows his debut album 'YES/NO' which was released last October, and precedes a quick return with a second full-length later this year. Star rating: ***.5/5
