PAPERWHITE - UNSTOPPABLE
The New York electronic dreampop brother/sister duo, Katie and Ben Marshall, released this new track this week as a precursor to their second EP 'Escape', expected this spring (the follow-up to 2014's debut 'Magic'). Mixed by Chris Zane (St. Lucia, Passion Pit, Friendly Fires), it is "a reminder to find strength in the chaos and beauty in the unknown.” Star rating: ****/5




THE LAKE POETS - EDINBURGH
Sunderland-based singer/songwriter Martin Longstaff  - aka The Lake Poets - with the second single from his self-titled debut album, which was released last autumn. The heartstring-tugging ballad is about ‘a fight in a bar’. Late night chill music. Star rating: ***.5/5




SOFT WOUNDS - BABY BLUE
From the Toronto shoegaze quartet's self-released debut album which came out on January 31 via Bandcamp. There's a psych sheen to the reverbed guitar and lo-fi vocals, and a a sharper edge than usual of its genre. Impressively moreish. Star rating: ****/5




CINEMA - MOVE ON
New single from the alt-indie Birmingham five-piece. The self-produced track tackles how bittersweet change and nostalgia may be. Tribal beats, zippy melody, engaging vocals, as the lyrics ask important questions that we all have to deal with at some point in our lives. Star rating: ****/5




TRANQUILITY - VIBRATIONS
It's all about the peace with Malcolm Peter Fitch, an 18 year old rapper, singer, and producer from North Haven, Connecticut. Produces all his material, and raps about peace, love, self-awareness. Peaceful, tropical ambience. Star rating: ***.5/5
