Pulsing post-punk track 'Price' is the lead cut from the just released debut EP by London-based Creature Kingdom. And if you think it sounds a little like the slightly dark and ominous sounds that have been emanating from Scandinavia of late, you wouldn't be far wrong as both members of the duo, Daniela Trojmar (vocals, guitar) and Elias Elgerud (drums), are Swedish.
The two, having played together for a while, formed Creature Kingdom last year, and have played at various London venues since their first gig in February at the Rhythm Factory.
Their three-track EP 'Teeth Lips And Tongue' was released digitally last week. 'Price' features Trojmar's lightness of touch vocally, contrasting with the heavy drum sound and some scratchy guitar riffs.
I love this track! It's gutsy and the contrast between the singer's naturally strong, yet fragile, voice and the rough riffs and heavy drums is beautiful. The rest of the EP is quality stuff as well. Hope to hear more from these guys!
