Track Of The Day :: Kassassin Street - Centre Straight Atom

Southsea five-piece Kassassin Street have produced a big one here with new single 'Centre Straight Atom', set for release next month. If it is possible to have such a thing as danceable psych - they've got it nailed.

The follow-up to debut single 'The Royal Handkerchief Ballet' which appeared in May, and produced once again by Tristan Iverny (Frank Turner, The Holloways) at both Konk Studies in north London and the band's own studio, 'Centre Straight Atom' is a catchy, rousing guitar driven number with some hazy 60s psychedelia lurking in their instrumentation, along with some quasi Eastern influences thrown in; add a touch of electronica with and blazing guitar and it becomes the kind of thing you just have to get up and have a bit of a shuffle around to.

They've pulled out all the stops on this one, and if they can prove themselves as equally entertaining live, Kassassin Street must be headed for big time street next year.

Kassassin Street play The Rifle Club, Portsmouth on November 14 (SOLD OUT).

'Centre Straight Atom' is self-released as a digital single on November 10 via iTunes and Spotify.
