September 26 2014 - Hot Top Ten

LITTLE SHOES BIG VOICE - HEAVEN AIN'T HIGH
The follow-up to last month's ‘Blue Veins’ from electro acoustic pop Londoners, Jack Durtnall and Emily Harvey. The ethereal dual vocals are captivating. Catch them live at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on October 7.

LA FONT - PRETTY IN LOVE
Combining arching guitars, infectious arrangements, danceable bass lines, and lead singer Danny Bobbe's distinct signature snarl about how he "ain’t a bad guy, though [he] fucked up your life”. Taken from the 2-on-1 cassette release featuring LA Font's first two full-length albums, out October 13 via Fleeting Youth Records.

WILD SMILES - GIRLFRIEND
Another gem from the fast-rising Winchester three, who we first caught last summer live (see here). New single out October 20 from the debut album 'Always Tomorrow', which follows a week later on Sunday Best Recordings.

THE LITTLE DEATHS - DISTANT ACTION
Our Birmingham Track Of The Day four-piece from back in April, follow up 'Daydreamer' with the less dreamy, more psychy, just released new single. Great vocal keeps you listening.

LUPA - PAINTED MASK
Taken from the prodigiously talented Australian Imogen Jones's debut five track EP 'The Seed'. Featured here earlier in the year, the 16-year-old folk/electronica artist is definitely sowing the right seeds for success.

POLARSETS - WHISPERS
Taken from the Newcastle foursome's debut album 'Parasols' launched this week, and the first track to feature new band member Carmen Green on lead vocals. They've been around for a few years now, quietly dropping tracks here and there, but this is perhaps their best yet.

LOST WINTER - RUNAWAY (ft. CHARLOTTE FRANCIS)
New digitally released single out this week from Huddersfield electro synth outfit who we last featured here back in April. Always consistently a cut above the rest, with Charlotte Francis once again providing the focal point.

MEXICO CITY BLONDES - COLORS
The follow-up to their enormously successful 'Fade', the Californian indie pop duo (Allie Thompson and Greg Doscher) from Santa Barbara head back with more layers of synth and percussion and the striking vocals of Ms Thompson on this latest track that is sure to stamp their name on the map.

FERAL FIVE - 3D
Post punk/electro duo from the London/Kent borders with an infectiously catchy follow-up to last year's well-received debut EP 'Skin', utilising 3D print samples as percussion.

SILENT PARTY - REMEMBER YOUR STRATEGIES
The latest sonic pop single from the new London five-piece. Should get your feet and fingers tapping. Hear it live tomorrow (September 27) when they play a free entry show at The Spice Of Life, Soho, London.
