Track Of The Day :: Sunrise Device - Take Me Up

Sunrise Device, the working name of Aaron Molyneaux, had just unveiled this track, 'Take Me Up', as part of an AA release (with 'Feel it, feel it invisible').

The 21-year-old from High Wycombe, started out on a "small 8 track recorder when I was about 16 and always used to record some drums then add in some guitar, and maybe some keys, but never tried vocals. I also played drums in an indie band but that split up. I chose Music Technology as an A-Level and really got into computer recording. I would stay up late nights just practicing layering things together with software instruments and learn more about production."

With 13 tracks now uploaded over the last year, you can almost follow a clear path as to how Aaron has put the elements he had been working on into practise. On 'Take Me Up' there's an engaging simplicity to the vocals, with an infectious chorus line and overdubbed harmonies.

The name 'Sunrise Device' he says, "comes from those countless nights I was up until 4 or 5, when I would see the sunrise." At the moment he is just releasing things digitally on Soundcloud, apart from playing one or two small, intimate stripped back gigs, "but nothing big so far".
