August 8 2014 - Hot Top Ten

SEX HANDS - PIVOT
Raw DIY taken from the debut album 'Pleh' (co-released by Faux Discx and Negative Space and released on July 28) by the three-piece from North Wales, now Manchester-based.

THE SHIVAS - YOU MAKE ME WANNA DIE
60s influenced psych surf from the quartet from Portland, Oregon, and taken from their forthcoming October album 'You Know What To Do' released thru K Records.

VITAMIN - TO BELIEVE
The Leeds four-piece who we said here back in May were a band to watch, prove us right with this latest instantly likeable track which came out this week.

THE WELL - MORTAL BONES
Single cut from their 'Samsara' full-length - released via RidingEasy Records on September 23 - heavy cutting psych from the Austin, Texas three-piece.

THE DEAD GENEROSITIES - 7.23
Rather a cute little animated video - "Plasticene, vintage dolls, and old
taxidermy abound" - to accompany this new release taken from the dark noise pop South Shields three's debut album 'Post Mortem Family Portrait'. Catch them next live on August 22 at Water Rats, London.

SUNKEN MONKEY - THIS TOWN'S TOO BIG (FOR THE BOTH OF US)
Pop punk Burnley four-piece kicking up some fuel on this lead single out on August 18 via Bumface Records, with album 'Party Scars' dropping in October.

GOSH PITH - WAVES
Lo-fi RnB debut from this Detroit three-piece who have so far racked up over 12,000 Soundcloud plays with what they describe as 'cosmic-trap'. Not quite sure what that might be exactly, but no doubting this is one mother of a tune.

LEMONADE - COME DOWN SOFTLY
Taken from the Brooklyn outfit's new album 'Minus Tide' out September 9, this has all the familiar trademarks of the band who like their sounds to shimmer, and gently seduce you with instrumental synth ripples.

DOE - JULIA SURVIVED
The London pop punk trio  - who we introduced here back in February - are putting out their first full-length, 'First Four', via Specialist Subject Records this October. A collection of 13 tracks from their first four EPs - including this standout which blends chugging guitar punk with 90s indie pop.

SYKES - ANYBODY OUT THERE
Featuring in our hot ten back in June with 'Gold Dust, the London electronic trio are now back with a pretty fine follow-up single, out September 15.
