July 18 2014 - Hot Top Ten

RUBBLEBUCKET - CAROUSEL RIDE
New single and title track from EP, both out on August 11 via Communion from the Brooklyn five-piece. "Our music is like being at a raging party," says guitarist Ian Jersey, which sums it up nicely.

WAYLAYERS - TAKE HOLD
The East London-based trio have come a long way since putting out the first feelers from their 'Fault Lines' EP early last year. Their latest here - out September 15 via Alcopop! - with swoony vocals and a ripping baseline sets them apart further still.

APES - PULL THE TRIGGER
The Melbourne garage rockers turn out this new, just released digital track that's strong on hooks, high on energy and plenty of melodic layers in an effortlessly pop wrapping. According to vox Ben Dowd, it's about "following the path you truly want to endeavour and not the one that you should." Looks like this is a band on the right track here.

OSLO PARKS - TWIN
Featured as our Track Of The Day earlier in the week (and quickly jumped on by everyone around), the Brighton production duo have everyone hooked with this debut single, released on August 25.

REAL LIES - NORTH CIRCULAR
Capturing the essence of the stretch of motorway that skirts North London in a prose poetry/Mike Skinner /house beat style, one side of AA singke release (with 'Dab Housing') and the one that everyone is talking about. Catch them live at The Waiting Room, London on July 24.

VILLIERS - YOU'RE NOT ALONE
It surely can't be too much longer can it before this band are gracing prime stages? Sharp and consistent in production, melody and writing, this follow-up to 'The Dancer' (see more
here) pushes all the right notes.

FRIDAY CLUB - SIDETRACKED
Alikened (by us) to The Ramones (see
here ), the Birmingham four-piece turn in yet another fierce track online.

BRONCHO - CLASS HISTORIAN
Hook-filled retro garage from the Oklahoma power-pop threesome on this lead single from second forthcoming album 'Just Enough Hip To Be Woman'.

SOUTHERN - WHERE I WANT TO BE
Belfast-born, Liverpool-based brother and sister duo, Thom and Lucy, with new single out August 18, with Thom providing vocals on this crunchy, exciting new track.

BAKED - MICK JAGGER
A groove-laden six minutes that just begs to be heard from the already impressive Brooklyn psych pop outfit, taken from their debut full-length 'Debt' out next month.
