Manchester's Neil Claxton roped in actor Dafoe after hearing a podcast interview Dafoe did with The Nerdist and seeing him perform with Marina Abramovic. The results are this single, out this week on Warner Bros.





GIRL SWEAT - HEAVY SNOW
Released on Haus Of PINS' Christmas compilation, this deserves to be heard ling after the festivities. This Teesside garage noise crew sound like a very interesting prospect.





LOW TIDE THEORY - EXIT RAMP
New single (out January 27) from Devon retro synth-pop three-piece. Released debut album 'Big Sky' last year to impressive reviews.





PUSHER - CORRIDORS
Yorkshire psych five-piece who started making sonic rumbles in the latter half of last year, and judging by this could be tearing up 2014 quite effectively. They play Queen of Hoxton, London on January 11 for This Feeling's 'Big In 2014' along with Dexters, Trampolene and others.





DIRTY LITTLE LIES - GUN IN YOUR HAND
Energetic indie punk from this West Midlands four-piece. Catch them kicking off 2014 with a free live show at Proud, Camden on January 11.





THE ANECDOTES - BLEACHED
December single release from the indie shoegaze Warrington four-piece, formed early 2012. Play their debut London show at Amersham Arms on January 25 with Bombay Bicycle Club DJ set.





THIEVES - CATS OUT THE BAG
Lad rock four-piece from Birmingham with a touch of The Twang about them, especially in Jake Goodman's vocals





TURNING PLATES - FALLING LIVES
Glaswegian five-piece turn out something quite minimalistically MONEY-ish and lovely here.





EXIT CALM - PROMISE
Next single - out January 20 - from the Barnsley shoegaze/psych outfit, taken from 'The Future Isn't What It Used To Be' sophomore album which was released in 2013.
