One To Watch :: SSS

Now we may be a bit presumptuous considering this new indie five-piece bunch of 19 year olds from Sheffield have not yet even played a live gig, but with two demos just posted on Soundcloud and YouTube, we think they are rather promising.

And we're not alone it seems. The cheeky chappies - Josh Coddington (vocals/guitar), Morgan Somers (lead guitar), Tom Forster (rhythm guitar), Cal Atherton (bass), Max Smith (drums) - got a mate to bung a demo through the door of The Violet May's Chris McClure, who liked them enough to add his weight of support, along with brother, the 'Rev' Jon McClure. The track below, 'Me, Myself and I', he describes as 'a big dirty stoner mess'.

After meeting through school and a shared love of footie, they got together to form SSS. As to what the name 'SSS' is about? Well, they're keeping that under wraps for now, opting cryptically just to say "the name does have an unofficial meaning within the band, but we've chosen to keep it more of an enigma. We might reveal one day."

SSS play their debut gig this Saturday, March 2, at The Shakespeare in Sheffield - which has already sold out.

Keep a watch on the name.
